What have you learned from your audiences feedback?

When producing any form of media text, it is required that you gather primary research beforehand in categorize audience preferences, creating something that will fit the expectations  and needs of the target audience as well as a general mass audience. The pre-questionnaire consisted of 15 questions. After receiving feedback from a selective group of 10 individuals, we came to a conclusion that our target audience was to be of ages 15-35, consisting of both genders. By carrying out primary research, this enabled us as a production group to ensure that we incorporate factors that reflect on our genre accurately as well as making sure we produce a successful film overall.

After the film had been published and viewed online, a post questionnaire was handed out to 15 individuals, asking them a variety of questions based on their opinions of the film after being viewed, as well as improvements that could have been made to make the short film more appealing and effective.Post Questionnaire's are very beneficial as you receive both positive comments as well as criticism, which is used to restore a better product in the following performance. I was fairly impressed with the results overall as individuals gave the film an average rating of 4/5 as well as feeling extremely entertained which was our main aim as the film was a comedy. Also our audience found it extremely easy to identify the genre of the film as they stated it was  a comedy. 

As both surveys were created on surveymonkey, they were then embedded on to blogger which allowed people to access and fill the surveys in, making it more convenient for pupils. After collecting the results we were able to analyse and view the pros and cons. Below are the post questionnaire and graphs.

Responses

Overall, all individuals thought that Big Boy was very entertaining, with a good amount of acting from both characters. The film delivered a clear view as being a comedy genre as well as incorporating a fair amount of micro elements which enabled the audience to respond to the film in a positive manner whilst being entertained.

I was impressed with the rating of the film as it received an average 8/10 as well as confidently stating that it was a comedy showing that we succeeded in delivering the correct conventions of a comedy genre. 

Although majority of the feedback consisted of positive feedback, there was one major improvement that could have been made which was the lighting. Although the acting was very good the lighting could have been brighter which would have added a larger effect to the film and the character emotions as well as the atmosphere itself. Overall, the responses of the film was impressive.
